Welcome to the University of Rocca Civetta, the first of its kind which aims to study the natural habitat of several cultures in Italy. This is a university where even the best find it tough!
In Dungeonology the heroes will explore new places and their inhabitants with the aim of discussing their thesis and becoming the new professor in their own field of expertise.
Latest Updates from Our Project:
Questionology!
– Sat, Jun 22, 2019 at 03:15:57 AM
Hello Scholars!
Here is the long awaited Update that we hope will be able to shed light on the questions you are asking us these days.
Last week we collected some questions and posted an A&Q on the board, now we report here those same questions, plus some new asked in the meantime so that even those who do not regularly follow the board could be informed!
But let's not get lost in chat and proceed with the Questionology!
Q - When are the secret characters from Rigor Mortis and the Leonardo expansion going to be revealed?
A - We are currently working on completing the models and artwork that are missing from the SGs. For Rigor Mortis, Riccardo Crosa will soon complete the concept of the last Minion (aka Scholar) that are still missing, while the Architect from Leonardo's expansion is being studied and probably we will soon be able to show you the first concepts. In the meantime, we will show you the progress we are making on other models/artwork of the II wave...like this for example :)
Caterina model!
Q - Where is the "Spriggan trio" you show us during the KS campaign?
A - Unfortunately, these characters have remained out of stretch goals despite having prepared them. On the closing day, we had to decide whether to close the KS with the "trio" or with Scilla, and in the end, we chose to close the campaign with the Big Monster. But fear not! We are studying a way to bring back the Spriggan Trio and very soon you could have some surprises!
Q - Is the language on the tiles also going to be translated?
A - As already mentioned on the board, we decided to make Room Tile language free, removing the name from the tile. This decision was made based on various factors. First of all, we realized that in their final version, the tiles contained too many elements and besides making them a bit confusing, all this would not have made merit to the beautiful artworks. In this way, we have also facilitated and speeded up the production of the game in the 7 different languages in which it will be printed. But don't worry, on every tile, there will be a code that will refer you to the pages of the Rulebook where you will find the name of the Room and a text that will tell you its lore.
We hope you will enjoy this choice!
How works the new rooms? In this way!
Q - How many sleeve packs do I need to pack an all-in pledge?
To pack ALL the cards of your All-in Pledge (Core + All expansions + all Stretch goals), you will need 2 packs of sleeves for the standard cards and 2 packs of sleeves for the mini cards. We also augmented for free the number of mini sleeves in the each pack, now is set to 55 (we update the PM button ASAP).
Q - Why are Australian shipping charges so expensive?
A - Unfortunately, even not paying customs taxes (Australia friendly), Australian expenses are high due to the low quantity of goods we will send to that area. Unfortunately, Australia is in a price range for already very high shipments and to get more favorable rates we should have had a higher volume of goods than we currently have.
Q - Why don't you use VFI Asian hub/shipping?
A - Currently, thanks to an agreement that we have just closed with our distributor in China, we have obtained the same prices as VFI Asia for China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (you can find them updated directly on the PM). For other Asian destinations that are in a more high price range (rest of the world), prices rise sharply, unfortunately, but we are trying to find better prices.
Q - Why haven't you been more explicit on how much the 2 wave shipments would cost?
A - Actually we believed we were very clear on how the shipments would work and on the fact that the estimated prices referred only to I wave. Reading your feedback, we realized that we could do better, and we are very sorry to have created a lot of confusion and discontent. This will serve as a lesson for future projects if we decide to adopt the double shipping formula again.
Q - What shipping costs LMS will cover?
A - At the moment we cannot quantify with certainty how much our commitment will amount to since we do not yet have precise estimates, we will ensure that no backer pays excessive shipping costs, as promised. We have already done it for Nova Aetas and also for BRW, and the reason is simple... We want backers to have fun with our fantastic games, not spend a fortune on expeditions. Other than that, inflated shipping costs can hurt our image tremendously, so we have all the interest to keep them low as much as possible.
Q - What, specifically, you are doing to lower cost shipping (first and second wave)?
A - The guys who deal with shipments are looking for new and more affordable prices for the II wave, aiming to enter into contracts that also involve shipments of our next projects. It is not an easy job also because of the fluctuations (usually always upwards) of the prices of the shipments that from here to March could occur, but we are putting all, and in any case as already said, the commitment of LMS will be that of keeping the expenses of the II wave as low as possible.
Q - Why are there delay in replies on tickets/refunds?
A - As you know, the refund will be made without discussions, but technically we need at least 2 weeks to manage and process requests. It is, therefore, merely a matter of time for us to process the increasing amount of tickets flowing in.
Q - If we have too many refunds, we will start to lose SG's?
A - Absolutely not! But don't worry... refund requests are currently sporadic and much lower than the number of Late Pledges that are joining.
Q - Why did you open the PM so early if you still lacked many accurate quotations for both I and II waves?
A - We had to speed up the opening of the PM to have the correct quantities of I wave material to start production immediately and get the core box, Erasmus and Circe to you within six months.
Therefore we decided to open the PM, and utilizing your input we've been able to optimize the Pledge Manager in the places that it needed it the most ... something that is happening because of your feedback.
Q - Why can't you just do One Wave shipping?
A - We decided to plan the shipment of Dungeonology in 2 waves to allow you to enjoy the core game and the 2 expansions in a very short time for a game produced on KS. Doing so after about 6 months, you can already play Dungeonology instead of having to wait almost a year. We chose this way after seeing in previous projects, producing all the material at once also accumulates severe delays. I would like to reassure you that all the stuff of the I wave is already ready and we are already sending the materials to the factory as we speak, while we continue the process of working on the materials for Wave II. From experience, we know that Wave II will require the time we have estimated (approx a year) and in this case with so many things still to do, it's very easy to accumulate delays. We didn't offer the choice of single or double wave shipping, because after the experience we had with BRW being neither logistically or economically advantageous for backers or us, we decided not to repeat it.
Q - Why we can't pay for the shipments at once, now at the first PM opening?
A - We have decided to split the shipping costs to give you some breathing space and allow you to divide the expense into two quite distant periods between them. Beyond this, the fact remains that we still don't have a precise estimate of how much the II wave boxes will weigh.
Pheew! A very long list of Questions indeed.
Finally, I will also update you on the state of work of the I Wave. Together with the factory, we have drawn up a tight deadline series that will allow us to achieve our goal which, as you know, is to deliver you the I wave by October.
The first Deadline established is July 5th, which is the day on which we will deliver the files of all the translated cards in all 7 languages in which they will be printed.
The next step will be the manuals, which are already at an excellent point in their development, with versions in English and Polish just ready and which you can already download by following this link:
And that's all for this update! We hope to have solved some of the doubts that have arisen these days, see you with a new Update by the end of June!
Do not fear the Pledge Manager!

Hello Scholars!
Here we are with an update dedicated to the clarifications you've been waiting for about the PM.
We collected your feedback after the first 3 days of Smoke Test and found complaints about shipping costs that seemed too high, so we started looking for problems and to provide more information and better clarify the situation to all of you.
First of all, we would like to remind you that in these days we have only carried out the PM Smoke Test, which has the purpose of finding and resolving any critical points of the system or even errors that we might have committed during the creation of the PM.
Given your feedback, the test was a success and allowed us to check and solve some things.
We provide you with the crucial points we have noted:
1 - We have solved an error in the shipping rates for the Cards Sleeves and after the check we are able to apply a little discount for the Erasmus box; now those who purchase these two objects, or even the All-In Bundle that contains them, will notice a reduction in shipping costs for I wave.
2 - An error in the allocation of the Regions for Singapore has been solved, which now has consistent Shipping Fees.
3 - Some complaints refer to the fact that during the KS the estimate we gave you was lower than what you are experiencing in the PM.
The estimate we gave during the KS referred to a volumetric weight of 4 kilos for the I wave, but the material of the I wave will exceed this estimate reaching 5 kilos of volumetric weight, and this has obviously increased the total shipping costs we had rating during the campaign.
4 - We have noticed that the most complaints concern among you is due to the cost of shipping this I wave, which in perspective leads to thinking that the expenses for the II wave will be equal if not higher, bringing the total of shipments actually too high.
We want to reassure you on this point!
We aim to keep the total shipments in line with the current market for games funded through KS.
We can, therefore, reassure you that the shipping costs of the II wave will be lower than the first one and that will be kept under control.
If you have already paid, you can choose for a refund or keep the credit for the second wave.
These are the points we wanted to clarify with you, and we hope that this update will reassure you and keep the enthusiasm for Dungeonology high!
Finally, following your requests, we decided to schedule an additional opening of the PM between December 2019 and January 2020. During this opening, it will be possible to add only the goods that will be shipped with the II wave (so, for example, it will not be possible to buy the Erasmus expansion) and it will not be possible to make new Late Pledges.
We greet you again thanking you for your feedback and criticism which, as always, helps us to ... improve more and more!
See you on the message board and, as usual, a little spoiler!

Hello Scholars!
We are ready to launch the Pledge Manager, and just like before, we entrusted Backerkit for this. Many of you already know how it works, but for any question, please contact the Backerkit support directly.
We want to remind you of just a few steps.
Survey reception
You will receive an invite via Mail from Backerkit containing your survey for Dungeonology. To complete the survey, you will need to finalize the following steps:

-Switching your pledge to Professor, paying only the difference (this is OPTIONAL and only for Student Level Pledges).
-Selection of Add-ons
-Shipment info
-Payment Method (when charging your balance, there will be two options: Credit Card or Paypal. For credit cards, the charge will occur at Pledge Manager closure; for PayPal, the charge will happen at Cart Checkout.
Language Choice
We will ship the Core Game completely localized in 6 languages. In every Core game, we will find all the material in the chosen language only.
English
French
German
Italian
Spanish
Polish
Chinese
All the add-ons and Stretch Goals will be shipped in Multi-Language boxes, where you will find all the materials (Rules and cards) in all the six languages.
€ 1 Pledges
Everyone who pledged at least €1,00 and less than € 79,00 (Student Pledge) will receive the Survey to access the Pledge Manager like all the other Backers but at the Late Pledge Price.
Past Backers Credit
Past Backers will find the € 5,00 credit included in their balance. To obtain the discount it is mandatory to register in the PM the email with which you participated in the KS of any of our previous projects (Nova Aetas, Sine Tempore, Black Rose Wars).
Multiple Pledges
It will be possible to only take up to 2 more Professor Pledges at the € 105,00 Kickstarter price ( it will be valid for all Early Birds and 24h Early Birds). For example, who has got a € 97,00 EB will be able to purchase up to 2 more Professor Pledge at € 105,00 each. It will not be possible to have more than 3 Professor Pledges in total. If you plan to submit an order for more than 3 Professor Pledges, please open a ticket on our support site.
Shipping fees and Waves
Relying on our past Kickstarter’s experience, we decided to split the production of Dungeonology into 2 Waves: this will allow you to play Dungeonology as soon as possible, without waiting for the additional material’s production times. Moreover, in this very historical moment, shipping costs are facing constant up and downs: therefore, we are not able to obtain a reliable and precise quotation for goods to be shipped in a year.
Volumetric Weights for First Wave Bundle + first Wave Products
In the first wave, we will ship the following products:
Core Game
Circe’s Bay Expansion
Erasmus Expansion
Custom Standard Sleeves
Transparent Standard Mini Sleeves
The average weight for shipping is between 5 and 8 Vol.Kg. ca.
You will pay the shipping fees for this Wave’s products by the closing of the First Wave’s Pledge manager.
Second Wave Products
In the Second Wave, we will ship the following products:
Leonardo’s Workshop Expansion
Rigor Mortis Expansion
Rocca Civetta’s All stretch Goal
Artbook
The average weight of a shipment will be between 4 and 8 Vol. Kg. ca.
You will pay the shipping fees for this Wave’s products at the time we will reopen the Pledge manager for the Second Wave ( about 2 Months before the departure of the goods from the Factory, around March 2020)
USA duties
As all of you knows, an increment of 24% on the Customs Clearance for USA and Canada goods is very likely to occur from the 24th of July. We are not able to make any forecast, but we will do our best not to charge this cost on the backers.
Late Pledge Cost
As for past projects, the late Pledge will cost € 9,00 more compared to Kickstarter. Late Pledge will be the exact copy of the Professor Pledge, including all stretch goals and Kickstarter exclusives. It will not be possible for Preorders to purchase the Student Pledge.
Smoke test
We will make a smoke test to ensure everything works fine, sending the Survey only to 5% of the backers for every Region. It will last for 3 days from today Monday 3 June. At the end of the smoke test, we will open the Survey to all the other backers and the Preorders, this will happen approximately from Thursday 6 June.
Retailers
We are completing the shipping fees for retailers, that will be available on the Pledge manager at the end of the Smoke Test. The minimum order will be of 5 Professor Pledge, and the following orders will be multiple of 5 (10,15,20, etc.). For any information on these orders, please send an Email to the following address: [email protected].
-- The Pledge Manager will remain open until 12 AM on 30 June 2019!!! --
We conclude this update by thanking all our backers who have come to meet us at the Ares Games boot during UK Game Expo where we were present with a BRW demo table managed by the author Marco Montanaro; we hope you had fun and launched so many Fireballs!
Marco explain how use a fireball in the right way...
We greet you, giving you an appointment at the next update, showing you the long-awaited miniature of Yokka!

First print run!

– Wed, May 15, 2019 at 01:05:15 AM
Hi everyone, We are finally back with an update after a much-deserved break.
The factory is already working on the miniatures and has finished the 3D prints, which you can see below.
These are resin prints and still need to be “cleaned”, but it is from these models that we will obtain the moulds needed for mass production.
The rulebook has been revised and updated, with a change in format to accommodate all the extra information. It’s currently in the process of being edited by our own expert Frank Calcagno, and will soon be available for download on our website.
All the cards have been formatted and are ready for editing, you can see their beta version here.
Regarding the Circe expansion, we have added 3 Fato cards for free to improve the chances of a successful study.
Below you can also see some of the Zones in this expansion, which relate to the second level of the dungeon. These Zones can be entirely or partially swapped with those of the base game insofar as they do not alter the design and statistics.
The PM will open in the second half of May. We had hoped to open it earlier but we’re still waiting on the conclusive Kickstarter data, without which Backerkit can’t strike up the band.
At the moment, everything is going according to schedule and we don't expect any delays with respect to the established dates.
In the next update we’ll provide you with all the information you need to manage the Pledge Manager.
You are all graduates!
